3 key factors which help a voice artist deliver their best behind the microphone are:

1.A well written script

A script which has a clear storyline, highlighting the solution to a problem faced, presented with well framed sentences without grammar errors, is what contributes towards a well written script. When the script writer does a great job with the script structure and composition, it is a benefit to the voice artist.

If for some reason you find a few sentences in the script which are poorly framed, you can make suggestions to the producer. These suggestions should help improve the flow of words.

2.A clear agency brief

The brief should clearly communicate the purpose of the audio visual, what are they trying to achieve? For example: Is it an awareness film / educational film or a sales pitch?  It is also vital to understand who is the target audience. This information will influence our tone of voice in communication. Remember, it's always easier to meet expectations when you know what is expected of you.

3.A supportive and skilled studio engineer

Great achievements are accomplished through team work. When you have a studio engineer who is passionate and skilled in his/her work, it helps the artist to bring out their best. The engineer needs to be focussed, have sharp listening skills, be quick in retakes and have a sense of ownership of the project.

Hope these 3 tips help you in your next voice over recording. All the best.
