As a trainer, when you meet participants for a training for the first time, even before the workshop officially begins, they need to sense that you have an INTENTION TO BUILD A CONNECTION with them.
1 At first, participants may be a little shy or hesitant or may feel a little intimidated based on their personality type.
However, be persistent, have a warm smile and ask them about their interests.
2 Then ask the group one question in line with the workshop theme, and have them contribute with their opinions. Be attentive to their responses and make appropriate comments accordingly.
3 In this manner, as trainers, we share the spotlight, build bridges and create an environment of knowledge sharing, camaraderie and a positive attitude for learning.
